Talk with your center about scheduling your practices immediately!
Calendar Fundraisers (replaced BOWL-A-THON) [Not required but encouraged to fundraise]
You can do this as a team OR individual bowlers can do it, how you do it is up to you BUT they will need to be completed and turned in with your TEAM FEES or TO YOUR SCHOOL BEFORE TEAM FEES, HOWEVER YOUR TEAM PAYS FOR FEES
If you need another copy of it let Coordinator know OR if you didn't receive a copy
Tryouts and Practices
Please email Coordinator your Dates/Days for Tryouts and when you intend to start Practices
8th GRADERS CAN BOWL BUT ONLY JV
BOWLER WAIVERS & COACHES WAIVERS need to be done BEFORE Practices start, if they are not your bowlers are not cleared to participate and your coaches are not cleared to participate, this is part of my needing to know the dates
WAIVERS SEND CONFIRMATION EMAILS upon completion, have your COACHES and BOWLERS forward them to your HEAD COACH!!
TEAM NUMBERS -- AFTER TRYOUTS I need to know how many teams you plan to have ASAP!!!!
USBC MEMBERSHIPS also have to be completed and paid for ($4 UNDER 18) before bowlers can start MATCH #1, please do this with the rest of the waivers and collection of fees! If your bowlers don't have this done their scores won't count!!! I *highly* recommend directing your bowlers to sign up via BOWL.COM for their memberships.
SafeSport
All Coaches should have SafeSport completed, if you do not have it done please go do it IMMEDIATELY. You have to have a login on bowl.com and then go to Athlete Safety at the top right. Ask Coordinator if you need help!
ANY BOWLER OVER 18 OR WILL BE 18 BEFORE MARCH 1 also has to complete SafeSport, please have them do this before their 18th birthday!!! Same process.
The funds from the Indy East 9 Pin No Tap Tournament act as a discount to your teams! Here's the rundown of the money:
How does this work? Say you're FC and your team fees are going to be $1625. You got $745.80 from the Fundraiser? Now you only owe the difference: $879.20
Jersey / Uniforms *must* have the IHSB Logo on them! If you need the logo I'll send it to you!
Check with your vendors about dates, jerseys need to be ready before Match #1. If you don't have a vendor I can recommend some or feel free to ask your school! Uniforms should NOT have any sponsors on them and should have the School/Team name and IHSB Logo. Names on the back of the jersey are fine. Guidelines are in the rules, please check or ask!

BUT OUR CONFERENCE due date for all of these things will be 10/1/2025

YOU ARE YOUR SCHOOL'S SPOKESPERSON TO COORDINATOR!! Please reach out to them for what they need!
COACHES can wear jackets OR hoodies so long as they are official school attire with the school's name and/or mascot/logo. Hoodies cannot be up.
Bowlers are also allowed this benefit but ONLY if they are NOT in the bowler's area.LATE TO MATCHES? Will give a 15 - 20 minute grace period IF YOU CONTACT COORDINATOR directly before the start time. We are actually all supposed to be at the center at 4 PM with matches to start promptly at 4:30 PM. Beyond this grace period I'm going to try to reschedule your match with the cooperation with the other team but I cannot guarantee this is possible AT ALL, we are all at the mercy of the center at that point and it absolutely will alter the standings until amended. Everyone please do your best to work together on this.
WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA -- SHARE WITH BOWLERS AND PARENTS AND FAMILIES AND SPECTATORS
I will send mass messages in these places at times like for last minute changes due to weather or anything I need to address to everyone but ALSO on TeamApp
My goal is to have everything you need on the website
IHSB will send updates to TeamApp so, yes, we'll still need to use it! [Head Coach of each school is REQUIRED to have TeamApp, IHSB posts updates here!!!]
If you are not familiar with how team communications are supposed to work with your athletes either ask COORDINATOR or take a SafeSport refresher!
SPORTSMANSHIP SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
- Will be 1 Boy and 1 Girl. Each Team will nominate 1 Boy and 1 Girl with input from your bowlers and coaches and then after all the nominations are in the Coaches will meet to select the final recipients. This will happen near the end of the regular season and I will present the selected winners at SECTIONALS after Day 2 along with the other awards.
WHOLE CONFERENCE SPORTSMANSHIP - We should value good sportsmanship over scores! All people present at each match are expected to practice good sportsmanship! Be a good example, not a bad one! Tell your bowler's and fans because we won't tolerate people NOT following the main rule! Healthy competition is always encouraged, bad sportsmanship is not acceptable! I don't want to do it but if absolutely necessary people will be ejected if things get out of control.
SECTIONALS PATTERNS
I don't want anyone to have a competitive advantage by having prior lane pattern knowledge for Sectionals.
It's been a concern in the past and this is the best I can do to resolve it.
After Sectionals any team that advances will be bowling tournaments that won't tell you the pattern ahead of time; this is the practice for that!
Unfortunately I have to provide the pattern to the lane mechanic a week in advance of Sectionals SO I'll provide a packet of multiple possible patterns from the link above to the lane mechanic and I'll let them randomly pick them at the last possible minute!
PLEASE DO NOT GO THE WEEK BEFORE AND ASK FOR THE SECTIONAL PATTERN...
I would certainly not want entire teams to be disqualified over this!!!
